No one wants to feel grief, experience grief, go through grief. One thing for sure is you never get over grief. You learn to live with it. Adjust to the different life you live without your loved one. Some, even learn to carry it. Many parents carry their grief. It never goes away. It's there EVERY day. You tuck it away to get through your day but when it gets too heavy, you allow yourself to bring it out and you unload the weight of it through your tears. Sometimes you scream, get on your knees with gut wrenching screams and tears. That's ok! Do it. May I even recommend getting in the shower. I find relief in crying in the shower. You can't feel your tears. But the weight is lifted and it feels easier to carry.
Check out my grief journey the first year. You are not alone. It's ok to not be ok. It isn't pretty but it is necessary. Let's continue to heal. Together. With hugs of HOPE. www.hopehugsimocc.com
