One thing that is so important in life is to have supportive people in your circle. By supportive I mean healthy. Let's face it, at some point we ALL will have to deal with grief. Because when life surprises you with something as devastating as a loss it can be life changing at that moment and if you don’t have healthy support around you, normally you’re going to turn to the only means you know and if that isn’t healthy it can take you years to get through grief.

I know this from experience. When my grandmother passed and especially at the unexpected death of my brother in 1993 I turned to the only thing I knew alcohol use. Not only did it take me years to get through my grief but it also affected my relationships with those around me. Fast forward to 2019 I was able to develop my relationship with God surround myself with amazing supporting people who did not use alcohol to cope with Their daily problems. So not only did I have someone to reach out to in my grief but I also had great resources for other options such as group therapy and one on one. So I’d like to offer that to those who need it. I’ll be that person that will listen give you resources and truly understand because I’ve been there. I will start a live weekly support group that you can join via zoom anonymously or not depending on how comfortable you are. Watch for more details to come soon.
